National Football Curriculum

The Football Federation Australia (FFA) have released the second edition of the FFA National Football Curriculum to help facilitate a fundamental transformation of football in Australia. It contains Model Sessions for every phase and explains how to organise sessions and plan 6-week training cycles for a season. The Curriculum is a practical guide for coaches and players of every age, gender or level as well as their parents. It is freely available in pdf form  here.

Coaching Resources

MSC strongly supports the FFA’s long term National Football Development Plan and the National Curriculum which was implemented in 2009. Whilst there is a multitude of coaching resource websites, the following sites are highly recommended to all MSSC coaches. In particular, the Global Football System and S2S websites have been developed in conjunction with Football NSW and the FFA and provide a comprehensive range of age-group-specific training programs, drills, session and season planners, video demonstrations and free downloads. Coaches in the U6 to U9 age groups should also visit the strong>FFA Optus Small Sided Football website (link located further below).
